Warewasher

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in our kitchen. Your efficiency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the smooth operation of all of our events ensuring that RBC Convention Centre standards of excellence are achieved.
Warewasher Responsibilities:
Wash pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware, and various equipment using an automated dishwasher or manual cleaning methods, ensuring thorough cleanliness and removal of food particles, grease, and stains
Sort, stack, and store clean dishes in appropriate locations, ensuring efficient use of space and easy access for kitchen staff
Assist with the cleaning and organizing of kitchen utensils, cookware, and equipment, ensuring they are ready for use by the culinary team
Observing all sanitation, safety, and quality guidelines
Working alongside kitchen team to establish a safe atmosphere
Warewasher Requirements:
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing workload effectively
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job; standing for extended periods of time; performing repetitive tasks; lifting, carrying heavy objects, and moving carts in a safe manner
Strong focus on cleanliness, ensuring dishes, utensils, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
Good communication and guest service skills
Must be able to work cooperatively in a team and able to follow instructions
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
Previous warewashing experience in a restaurant kitchen an asset
Knowledge of proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to WHMIS safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries
Applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Proof of work or student permit will be required upon hire
This is a scheduled position with salary in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Convention Centre Corporation and the Canadian Union of Public Employees - Local 500.
