Job Summary
The Warehouse Worker/Driver is responsible for both warehouse and truck driver duties. Duties include but are not limited to fork lift operation, packing, container loading, block & brace, as well as truck pick-up and delivery of cargoes to and from airline terminals and client facilities while following company policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Organize warehouse activities, equipment, supplies, and assign tasks to warehouse workers to maximize the warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Fork-lift operation and all tasks that are associated with it
Unload inbound and outbound freights and prepare on hand report.
Manual offloading cargo from containers, airline pallets, trailers, etc.
Reconcile driver pick-up and delivery manifests before releasing our shipments to the driver.
Label, weight, and dimensionalize freight for all the export shipments.
Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable reports.
Perform cleanup activities in the work area to ensure safety and cleanliness of dock.
Practice safe warehouse procedures, identify potential hazards, and recommend improvements where necessary
Responsible for quality control; Damaged cargo coming into the warehouse must be signed for as damaged and the damaged materials must not be shipped. Such instances must be reported to the Manager immediately.
Ensure in-bound paperwork is handled correctly and kept on record
Various other duties as may be required.
Qualifications/Competencies
Previous experience in general warehousing
Background in Air freight is an asset
Knowledge of warehouse documentation, including RNS, bonded freight and airline documentation
Some geographic knowledge of city for deliveries and pickups
Proficient with computer programs - Excel, word, AS400 and general computer skills
Ability to physically handle items of variable weight up to and including 55 lbs.
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to learn, use, and convey required information to clients and related party
Have a flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as necessary
Good verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
Educations/Certifications
High School Diploma
Forklift Certificate
Class 5 driver license
TDG Certificate is an asset
Authorized cargo representative certification (ACR) an asset
