SHIFT :

Tuesday to Saturday 11:30am to 8:00pm



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Load and unload shipments in an efficient and safe manner. Move product to storage areas with proper material handling equipment (pallet jack) Ability to modify and rework orders to meet specific customer requirements Efficiently store the merchandise in the appropriate areas. Prior to product storage, count all product, compare to manifest, and check all shipments for damage. Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, storing, and load functions, as required. Assist in physical inventories. Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, strapping and discard in proper containers or designated areas as required Strict adherence to completion of all documentation according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) including; appliance and home furnishing installation, manifests, obtaining signatures, safe operations, etc. At a Metro hub load product into the 5-ton for delivery in a manner that prevents damage to the product. Follow all SOPs regarding the safeguarding of Metro and its customers property against theft. Communicate clearly with Delivery teams to record units being returned to warehouse

Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act including Safety, Violence and Harassment laws Work in a healthy and safe manner following Metro's policies, procedures Always wear or use protective equipment Report any hazards you find in the workplace to your supervisor Must not use or operate equipment in a manner that would endanger yourself or others Must not put other workers at risk by your actions

EDUCATION:



Some High School, preferably a High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE:



At least 1-year warehouse experience Completion of secondary school is preferred or equivalent experience Must agree to a criminal background check

CORE COMPETENCIES:



Proven communication both written and verbal Must be capable of sitting, standing, lifting up to 50lbs boxes comfortable with physical work Service orientated with strong customer service skills and commitment to quality of work Good mathematical skills Strong team player, but also able to work effectively independently Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills - able to follow instructions Organized and shows strong attention to detail Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills - able to follow instructions Organized and shows strong attention to detail Able to Drive as Bus routes are not guaranteed for this time Basic Computer Skills would be a benefit
