Under the responsibility of the warehouse manager, the warehouse supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse and distribution operations and leading a team of approximately 5 to 10 employees in order to achieve order preparation and delivery objectives to our customers in Ontario. He is also responsible for inbound material, and put away, using best practices, and WMS procedures and tools. As a front-line representative, he should also possess knowledge of the industry and have a strong customer focus.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
As a working supervisor, he will be responsible for the preparation of sales orders and coordinates the work of employees in the distribution sector to receive material, load/ unload trucks, and store stock in the warehouse:
Maximizing productivity, achieving benchmarks, and accomplishing KPI
Ensuring that quality standards are met.
Planning resources based on needs and priorities utilizing computerized ERP systems. Working with the inventory coordinator on maximizing storage in distribution.
Supervises staff, ensuring the application of working methods in accordance with established procedures and provides the necessary guidance for training and learning. Capable of documenting incidents and non-conformities and effective communication to management.
Ensures compliance with occupational health and safety rules and maintains a work environment that promotes motivation, productivity and respect.
Participating in problem-solving and projects related to continuous improvement of reception and shipping processes.
Ensures the proper operation and improvement of equipment and ensures that it is used effectively and coordinates repairs, maintenance and cleaning where appropriate
Conducts team meetings to communicate issues, solve issues, and maintain a productive and healthy work environment
Direct involvement with customers, communicates a knowledge base on our products and applications to answer inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
College Diploma in appropriate discipline
Forklift certification (Reach trucks - an asset)
Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in a supervisory role
Knowledge of the operation of ERP/MRP/WMS. (Previous D365 experience - an asset.)
Skilled with Office Series software (Word, Excel),
Good physical condition, capable of lifting, lowering, and carrying up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
Strong communication skills in English. (French language - an asset)
Strong math skills, fractions and imperial conversions.
Good knowledge of distribution (knowledge of industrial and commercial insulation - an asset)
