Job Description


The Warehouse Supervisor has general accountability to coordinate and supervise all warehouse activities on a daily basis. Under the direction of the Lead Supervisor, the Supervisor is accountable to supervise assigned associates to the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service best practices, cost objectives, as well as ensuring safe operation of all material handling equipment.

Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of products, picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage
  • Responsible for effective cross communication between shifts
  • Ensures the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment
  • Participates in establishing work schedules and ensure that they are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Ensure all security and safety policies and procedures are followed
  • Thoroughly investigates and reports all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in Health and Safety initiatives including but not limited to the completion of workplace inspections, performing employee safety observations, providing employee safety information sessions and training, conducting incident investigations, correcting substandard acts and or conditions, commending employee health and safety performance and attending in health and safety training.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: training employees; scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conducting staff meetings; addressing complaints and resolving problems (with the assistance of their manager as appropriate).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
  • Ability to schedule own tasks and handle all facets of assigned projects independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform in-depth problem solving
  • Apply effective communication and motivational techniques in supervising and counseling subordinates
  • Administer consistent corrective action when required.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and materials handling equipment is required
Education and/or Experience

3 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of educations and experience. Post-secondary training and/or certification is considered an asset.
