Role Purpose Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is to coordinate the movement of raw materials to storage and the movement of orders from finished goods to customer sites. They will manage stock rotations, warehouse space, and ensure the warehouse remains organized and in compliance with SQF/HACCP procedures. Responsibilities
Supervises a team of associates through daily warehouse activities.
Becomes a subject-matter expert in all shipping/receiving, traffic coordination and material handling operations.
Role models the company values and ensures development of team members through efficient training required for current and future demands of the shift.
Devise, implement and monitor standardized warehouse practices and procedures related to department\xe2\x80\x99s objectives.
Optimize and maximize warehouse efficiencies, while respecting quality, deadlines, costs, and Health and Safety
Ensure that team members are accountable for the effective utilization of company resources towards the attainment of best operating costs and other vital KPIs such as OEE and Productivity Index
Reports all operating performance measures and issues to Warehouse Manager and represents the warehouse in departmental meetings.
Works closely with cross-functional supervisors to ensure effective flow of operations between production and materials, coordinates smooth shift handovers.
Ensures that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the company\xe2\x80\x99s Health and Safety policy.
Participate in special projects as assigned (HACCP, Continuous improvement activities, Kaizen, etc.)
Play an active role in the company\xe2\x80\x99s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.
Responsible for food safety, packaging materials safety, quality & promoting the Food Safety/Food Defense program & ensuring adherence to the food safety program by complying with the SQF standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for the occupational health and safety of all team members, ensuring GMPs are followed and that the warehouse is kept in a safe condition to operate.
Schedules direct reports based on production needs, completes time & attendance.
Attends to associate relations during shift and takes part in conflict management.
Can effectively report on associate performance.
Verifies all documentation completed by associates.
Qualifications
Minimum, High School Diploma
Preferred, Post-Secondary education in Logistics or relevant warehouse lead experience
Minimum, 2 years of experience in supervisory role in distribution or manufacturing
Minimum, 2 years of experience driving counterbalance forklift with a valid license
Proven experience in shipping, receiving and material handler operations in food industry.
