Job Summary




The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the successful operational performance of a wide variety of activities including shipping/receiving and storing products and maintaining inventory and associated records. Work force management responsibilities include ensuring team members training of assigned tasks or functions are effective and the performance of team members are at expected performance standards and within expected timelines; planning and and assigning daily work to achieve operational productivity targets, customer's service level commitments and upholding Health, Safety and Security standards.

Duties and Responsibilities



Monitor daily operations and allocate staff as needed to ensure all deadlines are met Provide supervision to the reception, handling, distribution and storage of all freight, product and supplies that come in and out of the warehouse Handle customer correspondence and respond to their instructions in timely manner Track and maintain KPI performance Assist in the development and daily enforcement of corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe and secure working environment Oversee a team of warehouse employees, including delegating, training, coaching, and planning Manage inventory control processes by using Warehouse Management Systems Maintain open lines of communication between management, staff, and customers in a respectful, effective and professional manner Make sure business expenses are captured and reported to accounting Working with Warehouse Customer Service, monitor billing processes by ensuring invoices are executed into operating systems and sent to customers in a timely fashion Deal with landlord regarding all building maintenance, repair and related matters Manage all warehouse equipment and ensure they are in good working condition Report any work-related injuries or accidents to Manager Focus and strive for a process of continual improvements for all warehouse functions Maintain warehouse in a neat, orderly and efficient fashion Various other tasks as may be required

Qualifications



Minimum 2-3 years of direct work experience in a warehouse or supply chain position Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management Direct knowledge of WHMIS and other safety systems Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word Strong knowledge of warehouse documentation Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions Solid project management skills are essential Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team Strong quantitative and critical thinking skills Team leadership and teambuilding abilities Ability to safely operate a fork-lift or other cargo moving machinery Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to physically handle items of variable weight, up to 50lbs

Educations/Certifications



High School Diploma or greater Forklift Certificate WHMIS training TDG Certificate is an asset
