Our Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of NorStar's 8000 sq ft warehouse. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate management of inventory, safe and proper handling and storage of products, and the timely and efficient delivery of outbound orders. The Supervisor will lead and support a team of warehouse staff, promoting a culture of superior customer service, accountability, and ongoing development. This person is also responsible for maintaining warehouse equipment, NorStar's fleet of work trucks, and ensuring the facility is kept in an organized, clean and efficient condition, while upholding compliance, safety regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this role are grouped into the following key areas:
Leadership & Team Management
Oversee a team of warehouse employees, including delegating, training, coaching, and planning.
Ensure team understanding and adherence to all company policies, procedures, performance expectations, and health and safety standards.
Warehouse Operations & Logistics
Manage the day-to-day smooth operation of the warehouse, including coordinating company deliveries, organizing priorities, and assigning work.
Ensure accurate and safe handling and movement of all products and materials.
Ensure timely shipment of orders to customers; investigate and implement corrective actions for any missing or damaged shipments.
Strategically plan warehouse layout and space requirements to optimize utilization and minimize loss or damage.
Complete all delivery paperwork and documentation accurately and effectively.
Manage daily paper flow to ensure timely goods receipts and customer billing.
Inventory & Procurement Management
Maintain meticulous inventory integrity through regular audits, cycle counts, and periodic spot-checks.
Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock and minimize excess inventory.
Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
Develop and implement procurement strategies for cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials and supplies.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Align procurement activities with Accounts Payable, ensuring invoices are matched to approved purchase orders.
Safety, Maintenance & Process Improvement
Ensure all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is in safe working order and arrange for maintenance as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient facility, upholding all compliance and safety regulations.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, recommending enhancements to work procedures to boost productivity, safety, quality, and efficiency.
Customer Service & Collaboration
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with all customers.
Interact with the sales team in a collaborative approach to manage delivery promises and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
3 - 5 years of experience in a warehouse supervisory role
Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record
Comfortable using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
Excellent communication skills
Strong math skills - especially with fractions and imperial units
Physically fit - able to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
Knowledge of the building industry is a bonus

Pay: $50,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
