Job Summary



The Warehouse Supervisor oversees all warehouse, logistics, administration, and facility operations at the Amherst Branch. This role is responsible for supervising employees, managing delivery routes, and ensuring warehouse optimization through effective planning and organization. The Supervisor will also manage warranties, returns, inventory control, and paperwork while ensuring compliance with MTO and MOL regulations. As a leader, this position sets the tone for safety, customer service, and collaboration while supporting the growth and retention of Rideau Supply personnel.

Major Responsibilities



Leadership & Supervision



Supervise and lead warehouse employees and drivers, including hiring, training, delegation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Ensure employees understand company and departmental objectives, reinforcing respectful communication and collaboration. Set clear goals and expectations, provide coaching, feedback, and formal evaluations. Promote and model Rideau Supply's values, policies, and ethical standards.

Safety & Compliance



Enforce company policies regarding workplace safety and security. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, MTO, and MOL regulations. Ensure employees are trained, equipped with, and properly using PPE. Maintain accurate documentation for regulated products and hazardous materials.

Warehouse Operations



Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to optimize storage, prevent loss/damage, and maximize efficiency. Oversee inventory management, including receiving, verification, reconciliation, transfers, and builds. Coordinate daily work assignments, priorities, schedules, and timesheet approvals. Ensure vehicle safety and maintenance meet RMV standards, including loading requirements. Plan and organize delivery routes to meet customer expectations cost-effectively.

Customer Service & Administration



Ensure the branch meets or exceeds customer service expectations. Handle customer questions, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner. Investigate billing and receiving discrepancies, resolving issues with vendors and customers. Manage returns and warranties, including authorizations, vendor coordination, credit processing, and follow-ups. Oversee invoicing of orders, verifying quantities and applying freight rates in line with policy. Process customer payments and coordinate CODs with Accounting. Maintain accurate filing systems and documentation.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration



Identify inefficiencies in departmental operations and implement improvements. Work with Procurement and Logistics teams to align on inventory and transportation practices. Support cross-departmental collaboration to achieve company goals.

Additional Responsibilities



Support building and property maintenance. Develop strong knowledge of company customers through calls, meetings, and industry events. Carry out additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications



Degree or diploma in a related field. Five to seven years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical Knowledge/Experience



Certified JHSC Member. First Aid Certification. Forklift Certification. Working knowledge of RMV (Registry of Motor Vehicles) Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet, and related business software.

Strong multitasking and organizational skills with ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Skilled in diplomacy, negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management. Ability to inspire and motivate employees, providing and accepting feedback. Strong prioritization and time-management skills. Strategic problem-solving with ability to implement effective solutions. Proven resource management and delegation skills.
