Shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Monday to Friday)In your role as a General Warehouse Person - General Merchandise at The North West Company (NWC), you will pick/count and organizes general merchandise products that have been ordered for our store locations. All orders are populated electronically, and employees palletize product to be shipped via truck or aircraft. • Detail receive PO\'s into Warehouse 7 and Warehouse 5.
• Prepare and tag orders for distribution to stores.
• Pick in the various zones for daily Basics allocations.
• Organize freight inside the warehouse and outside in the yard.
• Deliver and stage warehouse 5 & 7 products in designated areas.
• Manifest and stage orders as required.
• Ability to identify problem PO\'s and work with supervisor to correct.
• Sorting of Giant Tiger fashion freight by store.
• Building, wrapping and assisting in the sorting / bringing down of outbound pallets.
• Verifying counts on the pallets.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Previous shipping/receiving experience would be considered an asset.
• Forklift, high stacker, and electric pallet jack experience an asset but not required.
• Experience in a food or general merchandise warehouse environment an asset.
• Able to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently to meet production requirements.
• Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing and lifting for duration of shift.
• Ability to lift between 20 to 70 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
• Ability to operate an RF handheld computer efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to read and comprehend packing slips.
• Must possess a high attention to detail.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to operate and pull a manual pump truck.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
