Career Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Packer to join our Distribution Centre team located in Halifax, NS. Our ideal candidate is highly detail oriented and has a positive & collaborative 'can-do' attitude. Those looking for a role where they can contribute and learn in equal measure will fit in well.

Responsibilities

Audit orders prepared by the Order Selectors to ensure picking accuracy when required. Pack store and customer orders, taking care to ensure appropriate steps are taken to minimize damage to products while shipping, such as choosing the appropriate size box and using packing cells. Confirm transport carrier for each package, and process through the correct system to create shipping labels. Build and wrap skids, load on trucks following proper procedures. Ensure any special instructions are followed when auditing orders or when preparing to ship. Check shipments for dangerous goods, filling out appropriate paperwork when required. Assist Order Selectors with issues that arise, troubleshooting or escalating when needed. Ensure all Health & Safety protocols are followed. Demonstrate our company culture and values. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate Warehouse experience is an asset, but not required - full training provided Experience using a Pallet Jack and Forklift is an asset, but not required - full training provided Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Enjoy a fast-paced environment Strong multi-tasker with solid attention to detail Positive and self-motivated Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to read and follow written instructions Proven track record of reliability and safety Thrive in a team setting and able to work independently Steel toed shoes required

Job Type:

Permanent, Full-Time.

Schedule:

Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required as needed to meet business needs.
