Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Manager to oversee daily operations within our warehouse and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and inventory management systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS) and AS400. This role is vital in ensuring efficient order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and maintaining safety standards across all operational activities. The Operational Manager will be responsible for coordinating teams, managing logistics, and optimizing processes to meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking, packaging, and load & unload activities. Oversee heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and other heavy machinery ensuring safety compliance. Manage warehouse distribution processes and coordinate with manufacturing teams to facilitate seamless order fulfillment. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 to track inventory levels, process orders, and generate reports. Lead and train staff on the proper use of heavy equipment, order picker operations, and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy lifting, construction standards, and equipment operation. Optimize workflow efficiency by implementing best practices in warehouse management and logistics. Coordinate shipping & receiving schedules to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining accuracy in inventory records. Conduct regular inspections of equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and other machinery; schedule maintenance as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes, packaging procedures, and overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience in warehouse management or operations within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 platform, and inventory control software. Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred. Experience with shipping & receiving processes, order fulfillment, and load & unload procedures. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to OSHA standards. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and process optimization. Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks associated with warehouse operations. Construction or logistics background is a plus but not required. Pay: $45,680.10-$124,763.20 per year
