Job Summary

Shortline Moving Solutions and its related transport divisions provide full-service moving, freight, and specialized hauling across Manitoba and NW Ontario. We operate a 40,000 sq ft warehouse supporting our moving, storage, logistics and freight operations.

Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager oversees all day-to-day warehouse functions, manages a team of 3-4 employees, and ensures all inbound/outbound, storage, and billing processes are accurate and timely. The role includes implementation of a new warehouse management system (WMS) and process improvements across tracking, billing, and client reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Inventory

Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and outbound shipments. Maintain accurate inventory counts and reconcile variances through regular audits. Enforce safe and efficient loading/unloading practices for moving and freight operations. Ensure warehouse cleanliness, safety, and organization meet company standards.

Team Leadership

Supervise, schedule, and train a team of 3-4 warehouse staff. Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional development. Conduct performance reviews and ensure compliance with company policies.

System Implementation & Administration

Lead the rollout of the new WMS / inventory tracking platform. Collaborate with management and accounting to ensure accurate billing, reporting, and cost capture. Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory and data entry. Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, billing accuracy, and throughput.

Continuous Improvement

Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements. Support the integration of warehouse operations with transportation and dispatch systems. Work closely with accounting and customer service to resolve billing or delivery discrepancies.

Qualifications

Minimum

5+ years of experience

in warehouse management or logistics operations. Proven ability to manage and motivate a small team. Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (experience implementing one is a major asset). Familiarity with inventory control, freight, and billing workflows in a trucking or moving environment. Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills. Competence with Microsoft 365, Excel, and basic reporting tools. Forklift certification and/or safety training preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
