Job Description

Job Purpose:

Manage the warehouse and distribution functions within legislative and Health & Safety requirements, maintaining operations within pre-determined cost, service and quality parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

oManage a team encompassing functional responsibility for:

Warehouse and distribution B2B and B2C (E-Comms) Customer service levels Goods received Health & safety Warehouse operation budget adherence.
oWork closely with Customer Service, advising progress against order packing and order dispatch due dates, ensuring customer service levels are maintained at the highest possible levels and within agreed KPIs

oCommunicate the business needs and requirements directly through the operational structure of the Warehouse as appropriate

oParticipate in company Sourcing and Supply initiatives and Sales and Operations Planning meetings.

oEnsure that the department operates within a criterion providing pre-determined support services and KPIs, including:

Distribution costs Pick rates Inventory accuracy Absenteeism levels Warehouse efficiency levels Customer SLA and requirements.
oManage overhead cost budgets and apply management control parameters.

oResponsible for the management and ongoing development of the Warehousing and Distribution functions, capitalising on best practice benchmark comparatives.

oResponsible for Warehouse and Office facilities.

oMaintain inventory accuracy levels at 99% of stock value and responsibility for annual stock take.

oMaintain customer service levels that exceed 97% for delivery of orders on first-time presentation.

Knowledge & Skills required:

oA professionally trained commercial manager with a proven track record of working with operations and commercial functions.

oDemonstrated experience within fast-moving retail outlets is a prerequisite.

oWorking knowledge of MRP principles with good general IT skills.

oExposure to Navision Dynamics/Dynamic 365 Business Central or similar.

oFamiliar with Handheld WMS devices for transitioning warehouse movements.

oGood grasp and understanding of technical, production engineering, and logistics techniques.

oMust have excellent experience and skills with Health and Safety within a warehousing-style environment.

oMust have current experience as a Warehouse Manager or Logistics Manager (Or Similar) within a fast-paced warehousing environment.
