Date Posted: 2023-03-03-08:00 Country: Canada Location: CANON122: 285 Brindle Rd, Petawawa, ON, 285 Brindle Road, Unit CC128, CFB Petawawa, ON, K8H 2X3, Canada Position Role Type: Unspecified We are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager responsible for the day to day coordination of warehouse operations in the Renfrew and Petawawa area. This includes hiring, supervision, training and development of warehouse personnel involved in inventory control, material handling, storage, shipping, receiving, transportation and logistics. Responsibilities
  • Perform asset management and transportation functions to ensure effective and timely support to all program activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.
  • Ensure awareness and coordination of applicable operating systems, products and technical training needs for personnel.
  • Support team to ensure department meets operational requirements and delivers unparalleled customer service.
  • Responsible for contributing to the monitoring and control of expense and staffing budgets.
  • Facilitate the receipt of goods to schedule with regards to inbound/outbound freight and internal services between the Export/Import Specialist, shipping, receiving, inspection, and warehouse personnel ensuring timely, cost effective compliance to applicable contractual requirements and regulations.
  • Ensure all guidelines relative to company policies and procedures, customer identified requirements, applicable national and international governmental regulations such as Department of Transportation, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, both US and Canada import/export customs regulations, environmental, health and safety, are identified and adhered to.
  • Ensure applicable (ISO 9000/AS9100/ISO14001) procedures and processes are followed, updated and required reporting information is available as required.
  • Establish and maintain key performance measures including but not limited to order fulfillment, inventory accuracy and cycle counting. Support reporting activities to demonstrate compliance with policies, goals and objectives.
  • Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives with stakeholder support.
  • Interpret organization and program goals and objectives through effective communication to staff.
  • Manage vehicle fleet and material handling equipment (MHE) maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate with procurement/subcontracts to source and develop cost effective service and goods contracts.
  • Coordinate and provide security support and escorted access to warehouse facilities as required.
  • Ensure all employees are compliant with the company Environmental, Health and Safety program and are equipped with the information, instruction, training and supervision required to perform their work safely.
Requirements
  • Six to ten years of direct/indirect work-related experience in warehousing, shipping, receiving, and familiarity with both US and Canada Customs regulations.
  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain or Material Management or the equivalent in training and work experience.
  • Strong supervisory or leadership skills; ability to influence and motivate.
  • Good understanding of customs and freight issues is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge and/or experience with Canadian Department of National Defence systems is an asset.
  • Effective, written, verbal and listening communication skills are essential.
  • Possess strong organizational skills to ensure effective operation of warehouses as well as ensuring all deadlines, milestones or targets are met.
  • Computer skills including the Microsoft suite of applications are essential.
  • Ability to effectively organize, operate and staff multiple warehouse operations.
  • Ability to apply inventory management and inventory control principles.
