The Warehouse Manager at Floors Xtra is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of flooring materials and supplies. This role plays a vital part in supporting sales and installation teams by maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring timely material dispatch, and upholding safety standards. Additionally, the Warehouse Manager may assist with customer inquiries and support the sales team by providing product availability information and facilitating order pickups.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations:
Oversee all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, organizing, and dispatching inventory.
Implement and maintain effective storage systems to ensure materials are easy to locate and in good condition.
Ensure materials are handled correctly to minimize damage or loss.
Co-ordinate and deliver materials to job sites, ensuring materials are handled in a careful manner, adhering to a timely delivery schedule.
Liaise with store manager to arrange installation bookings, field concerns that arise from installations, manage logistical solutions to situations that occur on job-sites in a calm and professional manner
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records through regular counts and audits.
Manage stock levels and notify management when reordering is necessary.
Oversee proper documentation of incoming and outgoing materials.
Sales and Customer Support (As Required):
Assist the sales team by providing accurate inventory availability information.
Support customer pickups by ensuring orders are prepared and ready for collection.
Answer basic customer inquiries regarding product types, storage, and handling when necessary.
Assist in sales when required due to staff shortage. Emphasis on warehouse side.
Team Coordination:
Support and coordinate with installation teams to ensure timely material preparation and delivery.
Work closely with the store manager and sales team to meet customer and project needs.
Provide leadership and support to warehouse staff, including task delegation and performance monitoring.
Health and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
Conduct routine safety checks and implement procedures to minimize risks.
Oversee proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery.
Logistics and Scheduling:
Coordinate the scheduling of deliveries and pickups for retail and commercial projects.
Manage warehouse equipment, ensuring tools and machinery are properly maintained.
Monitor warehouse workflow to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
Drive to GTA for pickups when necessary and time allows for it.
Reporting:
Keep the store manager informed on inventory levels, operational issues, and safety concerns.
Maintain accurate records of warehouse transactions and material movement.
Assist with budget considerations related to warehouse operations and supplies.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Forklift certification is an asset.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively with sales staff and customers when required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
