Position Summary



Imperial Distributors Canada Inc. (IDCI), a leader in healthcare delivery for pharmacies across Western Canada, is seeking to add a Warehouse Manager to its Edmonton location. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Manager will play a key role in developing and supporting warehouse team members through ongoing training, coaching, and performance development. This position places a strong emphasis on leadership, communication, and teamwork, building capability, fostering accountability, and promoting a culture of safety, respect, and collaboration. Working alongside the existing Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager, who oversee the technical and systems-driven aspects of operations, this role will provide hands-on guidance to support warehouse operations, ensure team members uphold Good Distribution Practices (GDP), comply with company policies, and contribute to a high-performance team environment grounded in excellence and integrity.

JOB DESCRIPTION



Key Responsibilities



Leadership & People Management



Support warehouse supervisors, team leads, and team members to maintain a high-performance culture.

Coach and mentor supervisors and team members to strengthen skills, leadership capability, and professional growth

Partner with HR to drive employee engagement, performance management, training, and career development.

Manage scheduling, staffing levels, attendance, and shift coverage to ensure smooth operations.

Partner with HR to support team development through coaching conversations, performance feedback, and the fair and consistent handling of employee relations in alignment with company policy and Alberta Employment Standards.

Compliance & Safety



Ensure compliance with Health Canada pharmaceutical distribution regulations, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and internal SOPs.

Partner with QA and regulatory teams to prepare for audits and inspections.

Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing occupational health and safety standards, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring team members follow guidelines.

Monitor controlled substances handling and ensure accurate documentation in line with compliance requirements.

Operational Oversight



Work closely with the existing Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager to identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and technical improvements.

Provide insights and recommendations during operations meetings to balance productivity with team well-being and morale.

Support warehouse accuracy, efficiency, safety, and attendance through consistent communication and coaching.

Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on optimizing workflows, reducing errors, and improving the overall employee experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration



Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless execution of tasks.

Participate in leadership meetings, providing warehouse operational updates, staffing forecasts, and improvement recommendations.

Act as a bridge between front-line employees to align priorities and resolve operational issues.

Qualifications



Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of progressive warehouse leadership experience; pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated distribution industry strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of Health Canada GDP, inventory control, and distribution best practices.

Proven ability to manage, coach, develop diverse teams, drive engagement, and foster a culture of accountability and respect in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), MS Office, and reporting tools.
Strong knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) and Employment Standards legislation.
