Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the position of warehouse lead hand within our dynamic warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse operations, logistics, and team management. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient inventory management and distribution processes while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving activities. Manage inventory control processes to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies. Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and manage logistics effectively. Supervise and train warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards within the warehouse. Coordinate materials handling and heavy lifting tasks as needed. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, utilizing AS400 or similar systems. Collaborate with e-commerce teams to fulfill online orders efficiently. Support third-party logistics (3PL) operations as required.

Skills

Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices. Experience in warehouse distribution and logistics operations. Proven ability in process improvement methodologies. Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software. Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff. Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role is preferred. Understanding of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the role.
