The Warehouse - Document Control role is a key administrative position responsible for ensuring all material?related documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained to support shop operations, project execution, and field readiness. Reporting to the Shop Superintendent, this role safeguards the integrity of shipping, receiving, and inventory records so that materials can be tracked, verified, and deployed efficiently.
The primary focus of this position is document control within the warehouse environment. Responsibilities include managing incoming and outgoing documentation, verifying packing slips and bills of lading, maintaining digital and physical records, tracking deliveries, and ensuring all paperwork aligns with project and industry requirements. This role ensures that every material movement is supported by clear, organized, and compliant documentation.W

Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Operations
Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and specifications against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents
Inspect all incoming shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues promptly
Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, securing materials, and completing required documentation
Coordinate with couriers, freight providers, and drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
Inventory & Material Control
Accurately record all material movements using inventory systems, logs, or ERP tools
Store materials in designated locations to support shop efficiency and material traceability
Perform cycle counts and support inventory audits as required
Stage materials for shop production and field mobilizations
Equipment & Facility Support
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment
Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving areas
Follow all company safety procedures and material handling requirements
Coordination & Communication
Work closely with Shop, Planning, Project Coordinators, and AP to ensure material availability aligns with project schedules
Communicate material status, delays, or issues that may impact production or field work
Support continuous improvement of shipping, receiving, and inventory processes
Qualifications & Competencies
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certificate or Diploma in; Warehouse & Distribution Management, or Supply Chain Management (considered an asset).
Experience
1+ year experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, logistics, or industrial material handling preferred
Experience in construction, fabrication, industrial services, or manufacturing environments is an asset
Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
Comfortable working in an active shop and warehouse environment
Knowledge & Competencies
Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes in an industrial environment
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and accountability
Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents
Basic proficiency with inventory systems, ERP platforms, or manual logs
Strong organizational and time management skills
Clear and professional communication skills
Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support shop and project teams

Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
