Job Summary:
The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the activities of the warehouse to ensure all company processes, procedures and safety standards are followed.
Scope of Responsibilities:
May assist in supervising and directing the other warehouse staff, prioritizing their safety and the safety of others.
Assist in supervising mobile equipment operations and lifts.
Maintain the warehouse machinery, ensuring the equipment is serviced when and as needed.
Maintain the warehouse and organization of the yard.
Track and monitor the truck fleet for availability of units, as well as, coordinate service requirements and records are maintained for them.
Assist in the training, coaching, and mentoring of new warehouse staff.
Motivate warehouse staff to effectively carry out given tasks and ensure they are following company procedures.
Abide by and enforce facility rules and regulations.
Improve warehouse work processes through strategic planning in order to create a more efficient fulfillment system.
Operate skid steer, forklift, zoom boom and other warehouse tools and equipment, as required.
Prepare shipments for conveyance by packing items to ensure safe delivery.
Check items to be shipped, against the provided company packing slips/requisitions, to ascertain the appropriate quantities, destination, and routing.
Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on vendor packing slips to the companies Purchase Orders to verify the accuracy of shipment.
Coordinate freight sub-contracting (towing and hauling) requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
5-8 years' experience working in a warehouse setting.
An intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Office.
Proficient knowledge of computer systems and data entry.
Ability to work with dexterity and to lift heavy objects (+50 lbs).
Knowledge of inventory, supply chain management, as well as, familiarity with a variety of power equipment.
Ability to work under tight production schedules and deadlines, with effective time-management.
Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle changing demands.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Work Environment:
Work is conducted in the company warehouse.
Occasional travel may be required.
