Warehouse Supervisor

to join our team and help keep our operations running smoothly.

Position Summary



The

Warehouse Supervisor

oversees the day-to-day operations of the food bank warehouse -- including receiving, weighing, categorizing, and safely storing food donations. This role ensures that inventory and distribution systems run efficiently, supports food reclamation partnerships, and helps coordinate logistics for community food drives and fundraising events.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in an active environment, enjoys working with people, and wants to make a meaningful impact in their community.

Key Responsibilities



Warehouse Operations



Supervise all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, sorting, weighing, and storing food donations. Maintain accurate records and implement FIFO (First In, First Out) systems to ensure proper inventory rotation. Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and compliant with food safety and occupational health standards. Coordinate with staff and volunteers to support pantry and distribution needs.

Inventory & Ordering



Monitor inventory levels and track incoming and outgoing products. Place approved food orders and reconcile deliveries and invoices. Identify inventory gaps and assist with sourcing to meet community needs.

Donation Management & Reporting



Record all donation weights, sources, and categories accurately. Prepare regular reports on food intake, waste reduction, and distribution. Maintain transparency and accountability in warehouse operations.

Food Reclamation & Donor Relations



Build and maintain strong relationships with local donors, grocery partners, and farms. Coordinate donation pickups and ensure timely, professional communication with partners. Support donor recognition and community outreach efforts.

Volunteer & Staff Supervision



Lead, train, and support warehouse volunteers and staff. Promote a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.

Community Engagement



Assist with logistics for food drives and fundraising events, including setup, coordination, and transport. Represent the food bank in a positive, professional manner at community events.

Qualifications



Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management (food-related experience preferred). Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Experience supervising or training staff/volunteers. Knowledge of food safety standards and warehouse best practices. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Proficiency with inventory software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work. Valid driver's license preferred (forklift certification an asset).

Working Conditions



Based primarily in the warehouse with regular lifting, sorting, and loading. Occasional evening or weekend work required during major food drives and fundraising events. Requires a satisfactory criminal record check and compliance with organizational policies.
