POSITION SUMMARY



This position is a short contract to backfill an existing position for a 6 - 8 week period. Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Coordinator will work in an interdepartmental capacity, responsible for coordination and handling of warehousing and distribution functions. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, sorting and maintaining inventory in accordance with product specifications, special requests and ensuring product delivered to the end customer is of the upmost quality. The incumbent will assist in the efficient coordination of daily product scheduling arrangements, including shipping, receiving and storage throughout the warehouse, with continuous efforts to prevent loss or damage. This position requires a high level of collaboration and efficient coordination with customers, vendors, and co-workers. The Warehouse Coordinator will assist in ensuring production standards are achieved, or exceeded, with a focus on efficient and safe operating methods and adherence to adequate quality standards and process optimization.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



- Coordinate receiving, handling, distribution and storage of designated freight, product and supplies that come in and out of the warehouses.

- Sort and organize product throughout logistics department, maintaining proper inventory levels.

- Inspect and verify quality of product and accurate product counts, comparing to supporting order and delivery/pick-up paperwork.

- Ensure all production orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner, in adherence to delivery schedules.

- Transfer or load product with care to storage or holding location in preparation for delivery or pick-up.

- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage and to achieve full warehouse optimization.

- Coordinate and communicate with other departments, as necessary, to ensure fulfillment of all warehouse requirements.

- Ensure that all reporting and documentation meets ISO standards, as required.

- Communicate to direct reporting supervisor/manager all delays or variance in inbound/outbound freight.

- Administer efficient material management through documentation of products or materials that are low or missing, as well as identifying discrepancies between inventory records, taking the necessary actions to reconcile.

- Identify and investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and develop corrective actions for prevention of continued errors.

- Demonstrate initiative to complete tasks independently, with the support of the logistics department and other staff, as applicable.

- Complete required reports/administrative work immediately/as required throughout shift.

- Document and report defects, errors and discrepancies for inspection or repair.

- Interact with customers, vendors and/or freight personnel in a positive and courteous manner, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

- Assist in facilitating orientation and cross training within the logistics department.

- Knowledge of safe operation of custom hand, power and air tools.

- Troubleshoot areas of concern, identify and collaborate with logistics and management team for efficiency improvements and/or quality of work/products.

- Work in compliance with all administrative and health and safety policies and procedures, as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.

- Report process deficiencies and any administrative or health and safety policy or procedural infractions, as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies, to your direct reporting supervisor/manager, or other designate as applicable, for review.

- Assist in all departments, as required and directed.

- Lead by example.

- Other duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS



- Ability to work in a quality, results driven and fast paced work environment.

- Scheduling flexibility.

Be prepared and punctual for all scheduled deliveries and pick-ups and company meetings.

- Stay up to date and adapt to changes in the workplace as well as changes to position requirements as required to facilitate proper business flow.

- Be positive and courteous at all times, while maintaining a professional demeanor; be an ambassador for Devolder Farms Inc.

- Complete required reports/administrative work immediately or as required throughout shift.

- Ability to work in outdoor work environments (i.e., hot/humid and cold work elements).

- Physically demanding tasks (i.e., lifting, bending and standing/sitting for long periods of time).

- Ability to individually lift and load heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.

- Willingness to work extended hours or additional shifts preferred.

- Participate in compulsory training as deemed necessary for the role.

- CSA steel toed construction grade safety boots in designated area(s).

- Means of daily/reliable transportation.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS



- One - two years' warehousing/shipping and receiving experience preferred.

- Valid lift truck training and certification an asset (in-house training offered).

- Ability to manage priorities, execute tasks efficiently and work under pressure to facilitate proper business flow.

- Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining speed and accuracy to ensure daily work requirements are met.

- Knowledge of safe operation of basic/advanced hand and power tools.

- Strong mathematical knowledge.

- Strong and effective verbal and listening communication skills, with proficiency in English.

- Demonstrated problem solving skills.

- Highly motivated and extreme attention to detail and accuracy.

- Autonomous, honest and trustworthy.

- Valid First Aid and CPR certification an asset.

- Valid transportation of dangerous goods certification an asset.

- Valid Joint Health and Safety Committee certification an asset.
