TDG is seeking a

Warehouse/Branch Manager

for our Distribution Center in Barrie, ON. Our goal is to develop the next generation of leaders as our company continues to grow.

The Distribution/Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the branch location. To mentor and grow the team, to provide strategic leadership in building a high performing, engaged team who delivers service excellence, profitable sales growth, continuous improvement, and strong customer and community relationships.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:



Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills. Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented. Capable follow up, and execution skills. "Process" focused. Excellent leadership skills Strong Technical Ability Strong Problem-Solving skills. Basic understanding of the "Lean" principles Time Management Inventory Control Team oriented and ability to motivate the team Knowledge of general business practices Minimum 5 years of related experience, managing people and a distribution center and/or warehouse.

Responsibilities:



Plan, organize, direct, and control the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure product flow inside the warehouse and to our external branches is optimized. Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet targets. Plan and manage the operational budget and monitor costs. Ensure inventories are at optimal levels. Optimize warehouse flow, storage, processes, equipment and people to ensure an efficient operation. Develop operational budget, strategies, and growth objectives that contribute to financial strength of the organization. Develop strategies to increase overall productivity and output to optimize space utilization and transfer/delivery schedules. Liaison between all internal functions to ensure cohesive and optimal performance. Proactively ensure customer's demands and satisfactions are met or exceeded. Set a positive example for all employees through professional behavior and maintenance of a professional atmosphere in the workplace. Strive to build a highly performing engaged team. Recruit and train new staff as required. Develop and coach new and existing staff to support company growth objectives. Maintain an "open door" policy and promote positive employee relations. Performance management and compensation increases in conjunction with management recommendations. Ensure that legislative training of employees occurs as well as training in the use of new equipment/techniques including Health and Safety policies. Ensure that housekeeping standards are developed and adhered to. Ensure and enforce strict adherence to company policies and procedures. Participate with JHSC to ensure that employee's recommendations are considered. Recommend policy changes that will benefit the organization. Drive the importance of workplace safety both morally and financially throughout the warehouse, understand and follow applicable laws, regulations and company health and safety standards; ensure that all policies and procedures are monitored, adhered to, and updated regularly to ensure compliance.
