About the Position:
Canature WaterGroup(TM) is adding positions in our warehouse. We are looking for driven, talented, and personable individuals with experience in warehouse production/ assembly as well as receiving. All of our positions in the warehouse follow good housekeeping standards and participate in 5S / Kaizen activities focusing on continuous improvement. We have a keen focus on quality and all team members are required to escalate issues that do not meet our high standards.
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, our warehouse production assemblers are responsible to work with other departments and warehouse operations team members in the receiving of components required for the production and final assembly of water conditioning equipment including water softeners, filters and reverse osmosis systems for various residential applications. As well our receiving team members ensure freight is received and stored appropriately within the warehouse.
The Production Assembler is required to read basic drawings, work instructions and bill of materials. This position also requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tool in order to complete efficient and accurate assembly of equipment and kits in accordance with quality standards. Production assemblers work collaboratively to build customer orders based on required quality processes and meet daily / weekly / monthly targets. A basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems is a solid foundation in understanding the function of equipment being assembled.
Some specific tasks for production assemblers:
Assemble components / kits and equipment accurately, thoroughly and timely according to specifications in a lean manufacturing environment.
Read and follow detailed drawings, work instructions, policies, procedures and bill of materials
Inspect finished components / equipment for adherence to quality standards
Troubleshoot assembly problems and issues, escalate as needed
Program valves following programming guides and instructions
Fill and replace media in tanks
Verify picked work orders to ensure all items are correct prior to initiating the build of any equipment or kits.
Perform final testing of equipment to ensure it is free from defects and will operate properly once installed
Build equipment components and kits following all quality standards while meeting daily / weekly / monthly production targets
Participates in activities and training to increase job knowledge, including any required training, job rotation programs
Follow all safety protocols, procedures and guidelines
Complete final packing including carton assembly, packing, labelling, taping and banding according to instructions and procedures to ensure product is shipped to the customer free from damage and quality standards are met
Perform quality checks throughout assembly to ensure 100% accuracy to quality standards
Complete mathematical calculations and conversions as required
Follow all quality control processes and procedures
Participate in annual company inventory
The Receiving Associate will also ensure a steady supply of components and materials needed for the various production lines. This position is required to read manifests and other receiving documents to ensure accurate processing. The Receiving Associate is responsible for unloading and inspecting delivered goods for accuracy and damage and recording applicable deliveries into the company inventory database. The Receiving Associate will also interact professionally with fellow co-workers, 3rd party vendors and customers.
Some specific tasks of receiving associates are:
Verify prepared inbound deliveries against documents for accuracy and completeness
Utilize computer software to accurately records all receipts and maintain proper documentation within 48 hours of receipt
Following first in, first out methodology rotate inventory accordingly
Stock shelves and maintain regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy
Reconcile shortages and other discrepancies
Verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking items against the packing list
Ensure all items received have tags or labels to identify individual items or case lots. Each item received must be clearly marked with the appropriate part number.
Maintain freight log daily
Use forklifts and other material handling equipment to move freight within the warehouse
Report inventory inaccuracies when found so hand inventory levels can be corrected, and appropriate orders placed by the purchasing department
Participates in activities and training to increase job knowledge, including any required training, job rotation programs
Assist in the training and coaching of other team members
Follow all safety protocols, procedures and guidelines
Safely unload containers and delivery trucks
Participate in annual company inventory
About you:
1-3 years experience in an assembly / production line, or shipping and receiving within a manufacturing environment
Experience in plumbing an asset
Previous experience in a manufacturing / assembly role preferred
Previous experience in a receiving role preferred
Must be a team player with a positive and professional attitude
Customer Service experience an asset.
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills
Strong math and reasoning skills
Ability to read work orders and requirements for builds and other documents
Ability to understand and execute instructions in a timely manner
Computer experience considered an asset as associates are required to use inventory control equipment such as QAD label printers
Ability to operate forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
Ability to use hand and power tools
Ability to work overtime on occasion
Ability to move / lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
