The Opportunity.
This Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator will work in a fast-paced environment with a team who are committed to excellence and safety. This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining distribution through the stocking of perishables and non-perishables. This position also works to support our warehouse through the receiving, shipping, handling and movement of goods.This role offers a meaningful chance to contribute daily to food accessibility and community well-being.
What You'll Do:
Support and maintain the operations of the warehouse through the receiving, shipping and handling of goods.
Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, load, and unload product.
Support receiving, put-away, replenishment, and order-picking activities as scheduled.
Maintain accuracy when handling inventory and report any discrepancies immediately.
Assist with daily warehouse workflows, including volunteer-supported activities.
Health and safety orientations as required that are specialized to the hazards and equipment in the area the volunteers will be working.
Liaise with Volunteer Resources with regards to volunteers.
Sanitation of dock and warehouse.
Uphold all safety protocols and participate in safety huddles at the start of each shift.
Ensure safe food handling procedures are followed.
+ Preparation of perishable hamper content as prioritized the Production supervisor.
+ Assist in building loads for shipping.
+ Ensuring that donations are directed to the correct department.
+ Loading and unloading vehicles and directing drivers, as required.
+ Proper recording of all incoming donations, as required.
+ Receiving and verification of purchased product.
+ Proper tracking of pallet movement.
+ Assisting with product rotation.
+ Quality control and supervision of perishable & non-perishable goods.
+ Monitoring incoming product and identifying possible substitutions for guaranteed content.
+ Waste disposal, composting and cardboard compacting. Following all Health and Safety procedures, including completing any training that is required.
Participate in ensuring ongoing cleanliness of the CFB warehouse facility.
Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork while working alongside staff and volunteers.
What You Bring:
Previous warehouse and power equipment experience.
Valid forklift certification with 5 + years of experience operating narrow aisle standup forklifts and sit down (counterbalance) in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Experience working in high-volume or fast-paced operations is an asset.
Experience working with a wide variety of people or in a customer service capacity.
Experience working with inventory and a WMS system.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment. Candidate must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time and be able lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. Warehouse environment with exposure to various temperatures. Fast-paced workdays with frequent equipment operation and physical movement. Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and partner agencies. This is a full-time, 37.5 hour per week position.
