Position Overview



As a Warehouse Associate - Waste Processing, you will support warehouse operations by handling the receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of goods. Your duties include safely loading and unloading products, sorting and recycling food waste, and maintaining order within the warehouse. This role requires adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities



Sort and divert food waste into appropriate recycling or disposal streams. Load, unload, move, store, and pick products in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Safely operate forklifts, powered equipment, and other machinery for material handling. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards in the warehouse and sorting areas. Follow standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and security requirements. Execute warehouse standards with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and productivity. Accurately track and document incoming loads, diversion metrics, and work order accuracy. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow. Assist with general warehouse duties as needed to support operations.

Qualifications & Essential Skills



Valid forklift certification with proven operating experience. Experience in waste management, recycling, or warehouse operations considered an asset. Ability to work in environments with strong odors and varied temperatures. Comfortable handling organic materials in a fast-paced setting. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety. Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset. Must have steel-toed safety boots.

Experience



Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience.

Education



High school diploma or equivalent considered an asset.

Work Schedule



Monday to Friday 40 hours per week Flexibility for shift work, including evenings and weekends as required

Working Environment



This role is based in a busy warehouse environment with the potential for strong odours, where safety, cleanliness, and adherence to operational protocols are essential.

Physical requirements include:

Sitting and standing for extended periods Lifting and carrying items Operating power equipment safely

Compensation



Starting at $23.50 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience.
