We are hiring a full-time Warehouse Associate to join our team! The ideal candidate is a team player with great communication skills who is dedicated to providing a superior customer service experience. Candidates with previous forklift experience will be given preference.

This is a full-time, permanent position, and requires full availability within our store's operating hours.

Our store hours are:

Monday - Friday

: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Saturday

: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Sunday

: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Home Hardware Warehouse Associate plays a key role in ensuring that products are received, verified, stored, and transported in the warehouse and to the sales floor in a safe and efficient manner. They also serve customers by fulfilling orders at the Customer Pick Up Window. Warehouse Associates are responsible for keeping the warehouse organized, well maintained and ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed while carrying out their day-to-day tasks.

DUTIES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behaviour to management to have the situation corrected. Safely operate powered lift trucks to move merchandise/pallets as needed Receive, scan, verify, and store all incoming and overstock products according to established procedures and policies. Ship returns and complete proper paperwork. Perform housekeeping duties in the warehouse in order to facilitate location of products by all staff. Respond to and resolve customer and staff inquiries, requests, and concerns in a timely manner. Reconcile inventory differences. Pick merchandise for orders Hold and fill merchandise carts for the retail floor. Utilize the garbage disposal and cardboard recycling, ensuring the disposal of broken products is done in accordance with store polices Process damaged and returned claims. Operate computer and scanning tools Handle dangerous goods and hazardous products according to established procedures. Participate in training and meetings as directed by management Help support new employees in training Make suggestions for rule or policy changes when such changes would improve sales, profits, efficiency, morale, and/or operations in general. Work on additional duties and assignments that align with this job description as assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Ability to read, write and communicate in English Ability to read and comprehend written and printed materials, as well as information presented in numerical form. Must be able to work as part of a team Previous forklift experience is considered an asset

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
