The Warehouse Associate assists in the efficient and effective reclamation, processing or distribution of warehouse goods.

• Full-time
• Tuesday to Saturday
• 35 hours per week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Warehouse Operations

• Receives all donations in a designated area.
• Treats each customer fairly, in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Processes raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, and loading the donations; protects the integrity of the donations.
• Handles, sorts and disposes of recycle and waste materials.
• Keeps high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the sorting and receiving area.
• Selects donations for store distribution meeting established standards of quality, and distinguishes between discarded and good quality merchandise according to company standards
• Meets assigned daily targets; counts, weighs and records incoming and outgoing donations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Maintenance

• Performs routine maintenance such as snow shoveling and sweeping.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

• Completion of High School (an alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable)
• Valid Saskatchewan driver\'s license

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) months of prior related experience, including life skills.
• Experience with warehouse processing or goods distribution and knowledge of lifting guidelines are an asset.
• Brand awareness would be an asset.

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

• Ability to stand for long periods with frequent twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, lifting, and kneeling is required.
• Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
• An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
• Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgement.
• Ability to work independently and participate as an active and responsible team member in a cooperative team environment.
• Participate in mandatory orientation training, on-going professional development and training.
• Participate in regular supervision and performance appraisal process.
• Ability to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness.
• Represent the organization in a positive, professional and engaging manner.
• Must comply with all Salvation Army policies, procedures and associated legislation.
• Exhibit good listening skills, have strong oral/written communication skills and respect authority.
• Self-motivated/disciplined.
• Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army\'s health and safety policies and procedures.
