The Shop & Warehouse Technician will repair and calibrate specified scales and wrappers as well as interact with Measurement Canada Official to ensure we are compliant with government standards. The incumbent will perform shop repairs and maintenance, pick, pack, ship, receive, unload & load trucks, check in & out parts and equipment as well as store in appropriate locations for the Kinnear Branch. This is a unionized position.

Essential Functions:



Conduct assessment inspections, testing, repairs, and calibration of specified scales and wrappers to Weights & Measurement Canada Standards as needed for customer orders. Use material handling equipment to move material into, around and out-of the facility. Coordinate with Measurement Canada to certify scales and prepare required documents. Repair and ship warranty or repaired equipment to vendors. Perform shop repairs and maintenance; Adjust equipment and repairs or replace defective parts, components or systems. Test repaired equipment for performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and performs other routine maintenance work on customer equipment. Unpack, uncrate, repack and recrate equipment as needed by management. Travel across the GTA to support equipment movements, inspection and service as needed. Deliver rush parts to customer sites, as required Assess freight damaged equipment at Dynamic site. Prepare equipment for and at trade shows. Uncrate equipment at the test kitchen and trade shows; Put casters on stands at trade shows. Follow up on equipment that need repairs and reinstall borrowed parts on when required Dispose of scrap equipment as required. Clean lightly used equipment for resale/Trade Shows. Respond to internal and external customer inquiries. Assist the maintenance team in finding and prepare spare parts. Receive parts and equipment into inventory, move material between designated locations, and locate/pick material to/from warehouse locations as required and ensure accurate inventory management Pick, pack, ship, receive, unload & load trucks, check in & out parts and equipment as well as store in appropriate locations. Maintain and organize shop/warehouse. Perform all warehouse housekeeping activities; Maintain the spare parts and warehouse neat and tidy, including sweeping and mopping. Perform cycle counts and other inventory control procedures. Keep the inspected spare parts in correct location with proper labels. Print delivery note & labels, attach shipping documents. Assemble and fill orders to be shipped to technicians, customers or other locations via Purolator, UPS, FedEx, etc. Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Service Manager and assist other departments when necessary.

Experience/Abilities:



3-5 years of related experience in a Warehouse work environment. Previous warehouse /distribution experience is preferred. Proven mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills (previous equipment or tool repair experience is an asset). TSSA G2 Gas License Certification is preferred. Previous experience with forklifts and reach trucks. G2 Driver's license in good standing. Must be detailed orientated, accurate and reliable. Excellent organizational skills, ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities under a given timeline and a good problem solver. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Willing to travel to the U.S./Calgary for training to learn new skills and apply them to tasks. Excellent verbal and written skills in English and can understand and act on work instructions provided in English Proficiency in MS Suite products (especially Outlook & Teams) Knowledge of Pronto or other ERP system is an asset.
