Job Description


Our client located in North York Toronto, is looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting & Audit for a 18 month\'s contract opportunity. Working on a Hybrid model (2 days in office/week), and reporting to Director, Financial Services, he/she will be responsible for the below:

Responsibilities:

- Coach and mentor 7 direct reports
- Lead all aspects of the companies month end/year end financial close procedures
- Oversee the preparation and review of the companies monthly and annual financial statements and reporting packages
- Co-ordinate and lead year end audits including liaising with external auditors
- Review and document complex accounting transactions, provide guidance and analyze emerging accounting issues to enable understanding of the impact
- Highlight key financial issues and identify solutions
- Provide leadership to evolve and effectively enforce best practice internal controls
- Provide oversight for special purpose funds and processing of payroll entries/reconciliations
- Manage revenue recognition process, including management and monitoring of funding letters
- Act as an expert level point of contact within the organization for accounting and audit related issues and reporting matters

Qualifications

- CPA designation required
- Minimum 3 years management experience leading reporting and audit activities
- Exceptional technical accounting skills. Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting System (PSAS) preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship of staff
- Self motivated, a team player who can engage the team to excel
- Proven ability to work effectively in a large and complex organization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong customer centric approach
- Healthcare experience preferred but not mandatory
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required
