Want to consider a role in Pembroke, ON ! Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Director of Finance and Administration. This is a senior level position reporting to the CEO and requires someone with strong leadership, people management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills in order to be a part of the senior management team. This may be the role for you if you are an experienced VP/Director of Finance, perhaps a Senior Controller who also oversees Human Resources looking for a challenging role at an established company.

Responsibilities

- Direct, review, and prepare financial planning and budget management functions

- Decide on benchmarks for comparing the operating and financial performance

- Develop five-year business plans with department managers

- Perform analysis on operating results, comparing against budget

- Assist in establishing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures

- Oversee all hiring aspects of finance staff, including training and retention

- Maintains and reviews budgeting and forecasting models

- Oversee insurance and risk management

- Comply with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements

- Supervise all financial reporting preparation

- Take the lead on all financial and accounting operations

- Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the departments goals and objectives

- Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions

- Prepare financial outlooks and forecasts

-Oversee finance, human resources, contracts, leases and facility management.

We require a candidate who ideally has public sector experience and managed in a unionized environment. You must have superior oral and written communication skills and experience presenting to a Board of Directors.

- Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel

- High analytical and extremely detailed

- CPA is required CHRP/CHRL is highly desired.

- Expert understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

-Governmental and regulatory reporting

- 7+ years of accounting, finance and human resources experience
