Job Description

Robert Half Management Resources is the worldwide leader in specialized consulting and staffing services for senior-level accounting, finance and business systems professionals.

Our university client is seeking a bilingual Director of Accounting for a six-month contract. In this role you will plan, organize, direct and control accounting operations in a decentralized and complex environment.

The Director\'s duties will include:

\xc2\xb7 Directing the preparation of the annual audited financial statements

\xc2\xb7 Managing a team of six direct reports

\xc2\xb7 Directing the preparation of financial reports and surveys, ensuring that controls are in place for the organization to meet accountability requirements.

\xc2\xb7 Implementing internal controls to ensure general ledger information is complete and accurate

\xc2\xb7 Providing leadership in the development and implementation of policies and procedures

\xc2\xb7 Directing the financial management of the various capital funds and projects

\xc2\xb7 Ensuring timely payment of vendors and collection of fees

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as required

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

\xc2\xb7 Fluent French / English bilingualism

\xc2\xb7 Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration

\xc2\xb7 Professional accounting designation (CPA)

\xc2\xb7 In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial management, and relevant federal & provincial tax issues

\xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail and presentation skills

\xc2\xb7 Experience supervising staff

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
