We are currently seeking a Vice President to join our tax, retirement and estate planning team. The successful candidate will be a professional accountant or lawyer/notary with an in-depth knowledge of taxation, trust and corporate structures as well as wills, estate and philanthropic planning. This role will predominately service the Calgary/Vancouver markets.



The Vice President, Tax, Retirement and Estate Planning, will be a key technical resource for CI's National Accounts Team, Regional Managers, and Wholesalers on tax and wealth planning matters, particularly those respecting the Calgary/Vancouver markets. Responsibilities will include education and communication on key planning principles as well as providing guidance on CI Investment solutions that address specific wealth planning needs.



The highly motivated candidate will play an important role in implementing effective plans and strategies that lead to deepening client relationships and foster an environment to enable incremental sales growth.



WHAT YOU WILL DO



Prepare memorandums, white papers and education materials for internal and external audiences, and communicate and educate financial advisors on the benefits of CI solutions from a wealth planning perspective Provide consultative advice to advisors on how to identify clients and prospects who will benefit most from these wealth planning opportunities, and how to apply our CI Investment solutions to meet a client needs Conduct ongoing sales presentations, participate in promotional road shows, conferences and investor seminars Present at CI conferences and related events for financial advisors across multiple distribution channels Work with CI's Marketing and Product Departments on the positioning of the benefits of CI Investments solutions Contribute to overall sales growth by participating in initiatives, gathering information on client's needs and monitoring competitor advisor and client offerings to provide information for Marketing and Product department. Meet with Centres of Influence (COI's) of key advisors to provide education On a limited basis, meet with high net worth prospects and clients to assist key advisors in selling CI Investments solutions On a limited basis assist key advisors in client meetings to discuss tax planning and estate planning opportunities Develop creative articles to be shared with larger audiences on key initiatives and value added propositions Participate in the development of the CI Wealth Planning brand, website and marketing capabilities to create differentiation and a competitive advantage in the market




WHAT YOU WILL BRING



Minimum of 5 years professional experience specializing in tax and estate planning. Expert level knowledge of financial, retirement, tax and estate planning Professional accounting or legal designation required. Completion of CPA in-depth tax course or CBA tax law course recommended Member of a Canadian accounting organization Member of STEP would be an asset as would a CFP designation Presentation and training experience with large and small audiences Experience working and supporting retail financial planners and advisors Excellent communications skills including verbal, written and group presentations Ability to convey complex technical material to financial advisors in an effective manner Entrepreneurial nature - able to work effectively with CI Investments Sales Team to identify sales opportunities and trends Ability to work with a remotely located team
