Job Purpose





The Vice President of Sales & Marketing will lead the development and implementation of our global sales strategy. This position will report directly to the President and will provide guidance on business development to the executive team. Most importantly, the Vice President of Sales & Marketing will foster a team culture which empowers team development and demands excellent customer facing strategy.



The Equipment Sales line of business relates to the sale of new or upgraded CNC routers, knife systems or waterjets. The business has a network of regional salespeople and demonstration centers mainly throughout Canada, United States, and the United Kingdom, but other international regions as well. The Vice President of Sales & Marketing would ensure to drive its sales team to meet sales targets, devise regional strategies, hire new salespeople, ensure common training across sales representatives, and provide overall leadership to the group. Travel and frequent communication to regions to work with and develop the sales team to meet sales targets is a critical function of this leadership role.



The Marketing Group is the team that develops marketing strategies to achieve the organization's objectives. They need to effectively manage the marketing, promotional and advertising activities of the organization. The marketing department may be responsible for organizing events, such as exhibitions, seminars, sales conferences, or customer hospitality events, completing market research, liaising with product management, promotional channels, and matching potential products to potential consumer groups. They also promote external events to customers and prospects to ensure successful attendance.



The Vice President of Sales & Marketing role will ultimately be to optimize and synchronize both the Sales and Marketing groups efforts, to create the ultimate customer experience with AAG.


Duties and Responsibilities




Leads the development and implementation of a strategy which drives sales growth and delivers on the Annual Operating Plan (i.e., budget, and key initiatives). Develops, manages, and evaluates their team to ensure we deliver an exceptional sales experience to our customers. Challenges existing processes to drive greater efficiency and customer experience. Manages the marketing team effectively to coordinate new campaigns and promotional events which drive lead generation, conversion of leads to opportunities and assists the sales team to convert opportunities to sales. Works with the sales managers to monitor the sales pipeline for each sales rep, coordinate with marketing on the required lead generation activities and assists with strategies to help slow-moving opportunities progress towards orders. Frequently works with members of the sales team in their territories and meets with customers to keep in touch with market trends and performance of the team. Works closely with the Vice President of Aftermarket to coordinate efforts and achieve the ultimate customer experience. Provides clear and consistent reporting to the executive team which includes sales forecasts, key initiative progress, market feedback and budget analysis. Works closely with product management to communicate market needs and ensure that product launches are successful including full training for the sales team, marketing and exhibition at trade shows. Works closely with the manager of the software group to optimize the CRM system and other software the team relies upon. Leads the identification and roll-out of new geographic opportunities. Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/Education/Experience




7+ years of Sales Experience 4+ years of managing people University undergraduate's degree is considered an asset Experience with industrial sales is required, preference for machinery sales Experience with identifying and hiring new sales reps and terminating underperforming sales team members Possesses sales designations, courses and related training considered an asset Excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to carefully edit and monitor text for correct grammar and punctuation Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects and set and manage priorities to meet deadlines Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills. Self-starter. Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. Must have passport and be willing to travel internationally.
