Great News! Quantum has partnered with an amazing client in the commercial/industrial real estate industry to hire a VP of Portfolio Management - REIT to add to their team. The VP of Portfolio Management - REIT will oversee and lead a portfolio of commercial/industrial real estate assets within the Company, composed of approximately 2.5+ million sq.ft. and over 300+ tenants.

The duties and responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

- Oversee the leasing and re-leasing activities to minimize vacancy and maximize the value of each property. For reference, the portfolio includes a variety of properties including large shopping centres, boutique retail buildings, industrial buildings, and a film studio
- Develop, then implement, a short and long-term asset strategy for each property
- Lead and provide support for a multi-functional team, responsible for leasing, property management, accounting, and financial analysis
- Identify and investigate redevelopment opportunities to maximize the value of each project, utilizing the Company\'s expertise and relationships
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on budget (operating and capital) and within the approved time frame
- Be responsible for treasury management by way of recommending monthly cash distributions while accounting for the timing of approved operating maintenance/repairs and appropriate reserves for major capital expenditures
- Maintain a strategic focus on the trends (demographics, land values, shopping patterns, legal environment, etc.) to ensure that all projects maintain a competitive position in its respective market category
- Support decision-making at the Executive level related to development, acquisitions, leasing, and operations which provide the greatest potential for not only the Company but also their partners and strategic alliances
- Nurture the relationships within the Portfolio and ensure that each member of the team understands his or her position, where they fit into the management process, and assist in their growth and development
- Nurture the relationships with peers within the organization to ensure unity and effectiveness in the leadership for the company
- Nurture the relationships with the external partners; garner their support and buy-in to implement the asset strategies identified
- In oversee and manage a Portfolio, this position will be responsible for all processes in place being analyzed and appropriately fine-tuned to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the asset management processes
- Be a champion of change through personal leadership

Required Skills/Experience:

- MBA or Bachelor\'s Degree in Real Estate Development, Business Management, Planning, Urban Economics, or related Real Estate field
- Extensive experience in retail leasing and a thorough understanding of property management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within, as well as outside the organization
- Five years of experience in leading a Property Development, Asset Management, or Property Management Team within a real estate organization with a proven track record
- Effective planner and proven ability to start and complete redevelopment projects, is an asset
