The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Engineering leader who will play a pivotal role in the future of our company. This person will be responsible for the technical design, product development, and deployment of our product offerings. They will work in partnership with their counterparts in Product Management and Editorial to ensure that we have a software delivery organization that is constantly seeking to evolve our solutions in response to customer feedback and evolution of the media industry.

The Role:

As the leader of Digital technology at Postmedia, this role will build out the vision, strategy and advancement of the organization\'s technology. These plans will need to translate into a compelling product that drives value to our audience and advertisers.

Our ideal candidate will provide technology and people leadership that inspires your team and will enable operational success. You will need to possess the depth of technical knowledge to guide architecture decisions and ensure business trade-offs are made explicit.

We are looking for a person that values context when assessing the problems they are responsible for solving. You are a skilled problem solver that utilizes data to troubleshoot along with observation, listening and asking questions. To be successful in this position, it is essential to possess strong communication, collaboration skills and the ability to operate across functions within the organization.

What you\'ll do:

• You will drive the Technology roadmap, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals

• You will collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize technology needs and share insights and best practices

• Experienced with budget management to ensure expenditures and investments align with business goals. Can clearly communicate the trade-offs for return on investments and ability to optimize systems to create efficiencies

• You will collaborate with Product Management and Editorial to ensure the org design and capacity are managed effectively

• You will lead the Engineering and Operations practices to ensure systems are reliable, performant and consistently available

• Provide mentorship and leadership, guiding the team to enable the business by providing the appropriate system designs and scalable solutions that meet current and future requirements

• Lead the adoption of technology innovation for improved efficiency and productivity, such as Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI

Who you are:

• Years of progressive senior leadership experience in overseeing digital technology and product development

• Experience in each of development, infrastructure, and quality assurance

• A robust network which can be leveraged for Talent Acquisition

• Experience in areas such as customer support & analytics

• Ability to bring focus while at the same managing expectations on upcoming initiatives

• Customer-focused problem solving

• Interest and/or experience in digital advertising and audience creation

• Interest and/or experience in AI
