Vp, Construction & Facilities Management

Job Description

VP, Construction & Facilities Management
Luxury Residential (exp required)
Family Office
Remote role
Travel required
$200,000 - $300,000
*Candidates without complex luxury residential experience will not be considered
The VP, Construction & Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing the design, planning, execution, and long-term stewardship of the family office's real estate and physical assets. This role bridges strategy and execution--ensuring capital projects are delivered on time and on budget while maintaining the quality, safety, and performance of the portfolio over decades, not quarters.
You will align with our principal's vision for amazing spaces that combine unmatched luxury and tranquility with resiliency, security and future-readiness. You will drive aggressive timetables and complex requirements, while building a team that can deploy to multiple sites to execute on the vision.
The role requires proven experience delivering high-quality luxury construction in remote or access-limited locations, often requiring self-sufficient infrastructure solutions, complex logistics, and close coordination of materials, labor, and services. Current and future projects include family compound/estates, corporate retreat spaces and commercial hospitality.
This is not a land development or a corporate real estate portfolio role. It is an execution role that requires strong design, construction management, vendor control, and operations experience across multiple high net worth residential properties. Candidates whose primary background is REIT operations, real estate investing, or large-scale land development without direct luxury construction and facilities leadership experience may not find this role aligned.
You will work closely with high-net-worth stakeholders, aligning development execution with their elevated expectations and lifestyle-driven investment goals. You'll thrive in a high-urgency, design-build environment where expectations exceed industry norms and deadlines often seem impossible -- because speed is the mandate, not the exception.
You'll move fluidly between strategy and execution -- translating vision into concrete scope, sequencing activity across locations, enforcing timelines and budgets, and holding vendors and internal stakeholders accountable to world-class standards. Sites range from off-grid builds with helicopter-only access, to technology-enabled modular homes, to complex luxury developments across multiple countries requiring local labor and regulatory navigation.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, Construction & Development Oversight: Lead all new builds, renovations, and major capital projects across residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use assets; manage designers, architects, contractors, engineers, and consultants.
  • Facilities & Asset Operations: Oversee ongoing maintenance, preventative programs, and lifecycle planning to preserve asset value and operational excellence.
  • Capital Planning & Budgeting: Develop and manage construction and facilities budgets, track capex/opex, and evaluate ROI with a long-term ownership mindset.
  • Risk, Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure projects meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and the family's quality expectations.
  • Physical Security Design, deploy and operate security systems and personnel at each site during construction and operation of each facility. Ensure that passive and active security measures are designed into each projection from the earliest phases, ensuring exception safety and security at all times.
  • Vendor & Team Leadership: Build and manage trusted vendor relationships and internal teams; act as the owner's representative across all physical assets. Travel required internationally (up to 50%) to job sites in various locations which include but are not limited to Vancouver, BC, Caribbean, and the United States.
  • Strategic Advisory: Advise principals and senior leadership on real estate strategy, design standards, sustainability initiatives, and portfolio optimization.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • 10-15+ years of experience in complex construction, real estate development, facilities management, or owner-side execution
  • Proven experience delivering complex high net worth luxury residential projects
  • Demonstrated success managing off-grid or infrastructure-heavy environments
  • Ability to take projects from concept through construction and into long-term operation
Strong vendor management, contract discipline, and cost control Ability to operate independently with limited support structure Strong communication skills and sound judgment * Willingness to travel internationally as required
*Candidates without complex luxury residential experience will not be considered
