Caring for Young Minds (CYM) is a registered Canadian charity founded in 2004. We are dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth with mental health concerns by providing information, tools, and support to children, families, and educators.
CYM envisions a society where all children with mental health concerns--and their families--receive timely, comprehensive services that support positive social, educational, and developmental outcomes. Our goal is to reduce the long-term impacts of mental health challenges on individuals, families, and society.

About the Role: Volunteer Social Media Manager
This is a Board position. Social media plays a vital role in helping Caring for Young Minds raise awareness of children's mental health issues, engage our community, and support fundraising efforts. We are looking for a creative, compassionate volunteer who is excited to use social media to make a meaningful impact.
Objectives of the Role
Increase awareness of mental health issues affecting children and youth
Drive engagement, followers, and traffic to the Caring for Young Minds website
Support fundraising and donation campaigns through social media
Create engaging content (posts, graphics, short videos, reels, etc.) for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and others
Engage with followers by responding to comments and messages, as appropriate
Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager to support and promote fundraising campaigns
Analyze insights and analytics to assess the impact of social media efforts
Research and develop creative ideas for campaigns and initiatives to increase engagement
Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with CYM's mission and goals
Stay up to date on social media trends and adjust content accordingly

Who You Are
You are a creative and compassionate individual who is passionate about mental health, especially as it relates to children and youth. You enjoy storytelling through social media and understand how thoughtful, engaging content can raise awareness and inspire action.
You have experience managing or contributing to social media platforms (personal, professional, or volunteer experience welcome)
You are comfortable creating content such as posts, graphics, short videos, or reels
You have a good understanding of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter)
You are organized, reliable, and able to manage your time independently
You are open to collaborating with a small, dedicated volunteer team
You are interested in using social media to support a meaningful cause and make a positive impact
Experience with analytics, content planning, or fundraising campaigns is an asset, but not required.
