The Vice President supports the President in all of his/her duties and serves as President in the absence of the President.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General
Chair Board meetings in the absence of the President or when requested by the President;
Supports President in coordinating and overseeing strategic planning activities for the Board;
Carry out special projects and participate in committees as requested by the President and the Board of Directors;
Be available for advice and assistance to fellow board members and other parties
Responsible for managing Board Members, ensuring that the board is functioning as it should and that Directors are meeting their obligations;
Responsible for succession planning for the board members and work with the volunteer coordinator to recruit new members;
Lead an annual review of the bylaws.
Administrative
Attend all monthly board meetings.
Financial
Act as a signing officer as required;
Maintain full awareness of the complete financial, statistical, and accounting records of the organization.
Qualifications:
Strong communications skills are required;
Knowledge of and/or experience working with not-for-profit organizations an asset.
Estimated Time Commitment:
20 hours per month
