Role:

The Swim Instructor Assistant Volunteer is a big role in supporting and strengthening Aquatics programs by providing assistance to swim instructors, ensuring the smooth operation of swim classes in a safe environment, and providing exceptional customer service to parents and learners.

Department Manager & Volunteer Coordinator


Time Commitments:





This position requires 4 hours per week commitment. Shifts are 1-4 hours in length.

What You'll Do:




Support swim instructors during swim classes by assisting with demonstrations, offering guidance to participants, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment. Manage the flow of participants on the pool deck, ensuring efficient movement and adherence to safety protocols. Direct participants to their designated areas and assist with any inquiries or concerns. Assist with the setup, organization, and cleaning of swimming equipment, ensuring that it is properly maintained and readily available for use. Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing paperwork, organizing class schedules, or updating participant records, as assigned by the Aquatics program coordinator or supervisor. Actively promote Aquatics programs and upcoming events to participants, parents, and the community to increase program participation and engagement.

What You'll Need:




Strong passion for swimming and water safety. Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion or Bronze Cross holder is an asset. Ability to swim proficiently and demonstrate proper swimming techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with participants, parents, and fellow staff members. Patient, friendly, and approachable demeanor, especially when working with children or individuals with varying skill levels.
