Rocky Support Services Society is seeking dedicated Board Members looking to make a difference in the lives of supported individuals with disabilities in the community of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. This is an exceptional chance to expand your own abilities and provide strategic leadership.

Responsibilities



Provide strategic governance to the organization, ensuring that its mission, vision, and values are upheld Attend 9 board meetings and participate independently and knowledgeably in deliberations Stays informed about Board matters, prepares themselves well for meetings and reviews minutes and reports To abide by and be knowledgeable of the by-laws, code of conduct, and other policies that apply to the board Operate with integrity and credibility, demonstrating a passion for improving the lives of the individuals we serve Enhance the organization's public image Build a collegial working relationship with other board members by recognizing that contributions from all Board members during discussions are to be encouraged and valued Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight, risk mitigation, financial management, and growth strategies Assessing the Board's performance as the governing body of Rocky Support Services Society Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing financial resources and partnerships necessary for RSSS to advance its mission Abide by and uphold the final majority of the Board

Requirements



A commitment to RSSS Mission, Vision, Core Values, Code of Conduct and Strategic plan Skills and expertise in one of more areas listed above Ability to understand the financial position of the organization as presented in its financial statements Knowledge of sector and leverage personal connections and networks to develop collective action to achieve our mission Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to strategic discussions A willingness to attend board meetings, participate in committees, and advocate for our programs Previous Board governance experience is considered an asset We are looking for individuals with competences in: o Human, Health, and Disability Services o Human Resources o Lawyers/Legal Professionals o Strategic Planning and Governance o Community Engagement o Marketing and Communications o Strong understanding of the role of governance in advancing social, economic and health outcomes grounded from equity, diversion and inclusion lens
Job Type: Casual

Pay: $0.05 per year
