The Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a vacuum truck to transport and dispose of liquid and solid waste from industrial and oilfield sites, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Responsibilities?
Operate vacuum truck to remove waste such as sludge, drilling fluids, spills, and other non-hazardous or hazardous materials.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring all systems are functional.
Drive to and from job sites, including oilfield locations, tank farms, and disposal facilities.
Monitor vacuum pressure gauges and fluid levels during operations.
Load, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company procedures and local regulations.
Complete necessary documentation (manifests, logs, job tickets) accurately and on time.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
Communicate with dispatch, customers, and site supervisors effectively.
Assist with basic maintenance of the truck (greasing, fluid checks, cleaning).
Work in varying conditions, including inclement weather, remote locations, and long hours.
Relevant Requirements?
Grade 12 education or above.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments.
Having a valid class 1 driver license or Class 3 with clean abstract.
Strong work ethics and Mechanical Aptitude.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication skills to effectively convey directions, guidance and information.
Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada.
