We are seeking a dedicated

Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be located in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland Labrador, and have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to assess client needs, convey complex information clearly, and facilitate conflict resolution. Experience with disabling conditions, rehabilitation therapies, and vocational evaluation is essential. The ideal candidate has strong networking skills, knowledge of the local labor market, and experience in employment services or workforce development.

What You'll Do



Deliver client-centered services that promote timely and successful vocational rehabilitation outcomes. Evaluate clients' vocational potential through comprehensive interviews, analyzing work history, education, and medical conditions. Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with employers, industry partners, and community organizations. Conduct targeted employer outreach, including cold calls and site visits, to enhance hiring initiatives. Support clients in resume development, interview preparation, and effective job search strategies. Identify transferable skills and align them with current labor market trends through detailed labor market surveys. Stay up-to-date on labor market developments and employer hiring needs to better inform client placement. Administer and interpret aptitude, interest, academic, and B-level IQ assessments to assess residual work capacity. Conduct in-depth research and compile comprehensive reports; familiarity with the NOC, OaSIS, and Career Handbook is highly beneficial. Facilitate and implement vocational rehabilitation assessments and targeted interventions to support client success.

What You Bring



Certification:

CVRP, CVRP-F, or registration with the Ordre des conseillers et conseilleres d'orientation du Quebec.

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years in medical, psycho-social, and/or vocational rehabilitation services.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent post-secondary education and experience combination).

Technical Skills:

Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with assessment tools and research resources.

Expertise:

Experience conducting vocational assessments, analyzing reports, and developing comprehensive care plans.

Collaboration:

Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary team with various health professionals.

Preferred Qualifications



Bilingualism (French/English) is highly desirable. Experience engaging with employers, community resources, and training institutions to support client rehabilitation.
