Job Description

The Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) is seeking a Visual Arts Coordinator to lead and expand our visual arts programming across the province. This role is ideal for someone who is not only highly organized and creative, but also deeply committed to making the arts accessible, particularly in Manitoba's rural and northern communities.

About the Role



Working with the Executive Director and team, the Visual Arts Coordinator manages the Annual Touring Exhibition Program, and plays a key part in strengthening Manitoba's arts ecosystem, helping bring professional visual arts programming to communities that may otherwise have limited access.

Responsibilities:



Manage the Touring Exhibition Program and sample show for Manitoba Showcase Organize exhibition tours to galleries, libraries, museums, and community spaces Coordinate logistics, including shipping crates, insurance, installation, and promotion Maintain regular communication and build relationships with artists, curators, galleries, and host venues to ensure smooth operations and strong relationships Help bring exhibitions to non-traditional spaces like libraries, town halls, and hotels Assist with grant applications and reporting Support artists' participation in events, including organizing travel for artist talks and workshops Offer resource and coaching calls to artist members Serve as gallery attendant at the 210 Gallery on Thursdays and Saturdays, welcoming visitors and ensuring the space is professionally maintained. Assist in the planning and coordination of the 210 Gallery Mentorship Exhibition Program and Annual Members' Show Provide grant writing support for visual arts programs and exhibitions, including research, drafting, and reporting as needed

Qualifications



At least 2 years' experience in arts administration or visual arts coordination Post-secondary education in a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong organizational and communication skills Detail-oriented with editing/proofreading ability Able to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace (design tools are a plus) Knowledge of Manitoba's rural and northern arts scene is an asset Experience with grants or reporting is a bonus

: $24/hour for

(on-site only, remote or hybrid work is not available)*:

Wednesday-Friday

: 9:30 AM-4:30 PM (7 hrs/day)

and Saturday

: 12:00 PM-5:00 PM (5 hrs)
