Job Description

We are currently seeking a Virtualization Specialist to join our Enterprise Solutions team, providing enterprise-level service to our North American clients.

About Weehooey Enterprise Solutions



Weehooey Inc. has three business units: Enterprise Solutions, Hosted Infrastructure and Managed Service. The Virtualization Specialist is a member of the Enterprise Solutions technical team.

The Enterprise Solutions technical team is responsible for supporting clients in designing, deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting their virtualization infrastructure. We are North America's first Proxmox Gold Partner and first Proxmox Authorized Training Partner.

Our clients come from all industries but are heavily weighted in enterprise, government, scientific, education, telecommunications infrastructure and managed service providers. They rely on Weehooey Enterprise Solutions for our expertise in Proxmox products, including Proxmox Virtual Environment and Proxmox Backup Server.

About the Role - Virtualization Specialist



The Virtualization Specialist serves as a reliable technical resource to assist clients with decisions, designs, and issues related to their Proxmox virtualization infrastructure.

Communicating with clients and other team members daily, including meetings, phone calls, emails and well-prepared documentation. Providing technical expertise internally and externally. This includes providing support and training to clients, as well as pre-sales support to our sales team. Technical research to support clients and to expand our in-house expertise. Research can involve a review of documentation, an actual implementation in our lab, or training. Contributing to the community, for example, by publishing open-source code, participating in online forums and presenting at events. Occasional on-call duty with paid premium.

You are a strong communicator in both written and verbal forms.

Required Skills and Experience



Systems administration and/or IT support professional with 3+ years of experience working with enterprise virtualization infrastructure such as VMware, Hyper-V or Nutanix. Post-secondary education in a related field. Strong Linux system administration skills. Strong knowledge of network concepts relevant to virtualization, including VLANs, bonding (link aggregation) and firewall configuration. Familiarity with common storage technologies used with virtualization, including SANs with iSCSI or Fibre Channel. Experienced in managing support requests throughout their entire lifecycle, including communicating with everyone involved, including the client, team members, developers and external partners. Excellent communication skills in English. Both written and verbal. Good project management skills. Basic scripting skills in Bash, Python or a similar language for automation of repetitive tasks and infrastructure management.

Bonus Skills and Experience



Proficiency in French, Spanish or German. Experience with IPv6 dual stack, IPv6 mostly or IPv6 only. Proxmox experience Work in or with data center environments. Experience working with DevOps teams and modern software development tools. Technical certifications in related technologies.
