Chris Werner Consulting Inc. provides advisory and support services to Indigenous groups engaging with industry and government in land-related issues. Recognizing the uniqueness and depth of Indigenous culture in Canada, we are committed to a community-based grassroots approach. Utilizing current technologies like Geographic Information Systems, CWC empowers Indigenous groups to communicate complicated traditional knowledge concepts (where appropriate) across cultural lines. Similarly, we work with Indigenous leaders to communicate complicated legal and technical principles to their communities, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their future.

POSITION SUMMARY:



We are seeking an editor and videographer who is interested in working on a variety of projects including land-related and Indigenous content. The videographer will be responsible for all stages of video projects including pre-production, production, and post-production.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



Pre-production preparation of video projects Capturing footage based on project goals and objectives Editing footage to create video products of varying lengths Organizing and maintaining video data and equipment Supporting project team with coordination and logistics Working independently and in a small team Making recommendations for videography-related equipment

Qualifications - Mandatory:



Experience with capturing footage on a variety of camera types Experience editing short and long-form projects Experience with graphics and animation Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite Availability to be away for remote projects for 1-2 weeks at a time Valid Class 5 driver's license

Qualifications - Desired:



Proficiency with Sony Cinema Line Education in film studies, cinematography, or a related program Experience planning and scripting documentary-style content Interest in/experience with working in remote wilderness settings Drone pilot license/experience operating drones in wilderness environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:



Hours/Location of Work:



CWC's office hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00PM.

In addition to office hours, the videographer will be required to record occasional evening events and meetings. The videographer will also participate in, and record fieldwork conducted over 1-to-2-week periods (one or two times a year) in remote northern Manitoba and southern Nunavut.

Salary:



Salary will be determined according to education and professional experience relevant to the position.
