We are seeking a creative and adaptable Videographer to join our team for an upcoming documentary-series project. The ideal candidate will be passionate about visual storytelling and comfortable working in natural, outdoor environments. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to capture authentic moments in rugged conditions, often on or near water.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the director and production team to understand story objectives and visual direction.
Operate cameras, audio, and lighting equipment to capture high-quality footage in diverse outdoor environments.
Assist with storyboarding and scripting to shape the flow of each episode/segment.
Capture a mix of landscape, action, interview, and B-roll footage.
Support logistical tasks on set (gear setup, transport, etc.) as part of a small, flexible crew.
Maintain safe and respectful filming practices, especially when working on the water or with community participants.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Videographer with a portfolio that demonstrates strong visual storytelling.
Proficiency in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar).
Strong understanding of video production techniques, including camera operation, sound, and natural-light shooting.
Comfortable filming on water (canoe/kayak) and working long days outdoors in varying conditions.
Ability to collaborate closely with a small team and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Attention to detail and strong visual composition skills.
Excellent communication skills and professionalism with participants on-camera.
Assets (Not Required but Preferred)
Paddling or outdoor guiding experience.
Experience filming in rugged, outdoor, or adventure settings.
Ability to contribute to storyboarding, scripting, and creative planning.
Access to own camera equipment if needed.
