Video Monitoring Operator

Location: Security Operations Centre- Divisional Office- Victoria- HQ- 928 Cloverdale- Victoria

Position Status: Non-Union

Shifts: Mainly Overnight Shifts; 22:30 - 06:30 - 20-30 hours per-week

Reports to: Client Service Manager

Wage: Starting at $20.81 (plus 2.5% RRSP cash)

Reporting to the Client Service Manager, the Video Monitoring Operator is responsible for observing and responding to Video Alarms being monitored from the client\'s security system. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Attend to video/sensor signals transmitted to the Video Management Software (VMS) by applying established procedures.
  • Execute audio warnings as per pre-establish customer services protocols.
  • Document the alarms and solution actions taken in the monitoring software.
  • Accurate and timely Dispatching of calls to proper emergency contacts (client\xe2\x80\x99s requested emergency contacts).
  • Periodically verify VMS equipment and notify management of any issues, concerns with equipment.
  • Data entry including customer account maintenance.
  • Other affiliated duties related to the position or upon request from management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Available to work flexible shifts when necessary (evening, overnight, weekend and/or statutory holiday shifts).
  • Available to work on a rotating schedule.
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken. Multilingual an asset but not necessary.
  • Must have excellent written communication skills as well as a professional phone manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills required with the ability to resolve conflict and problems. Be able to manage difficult customer situations.
  • Experience in the security industry is an asset.
  • Critical thinking, self-motivation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to operate individually as well as in a team.
  • Strong computer skills, with an ability to learn new software programs quickly. Prior experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word an asset
  • Must be punctual.
  • Must have or be willing to complete Basic Security Training (BST)
  • Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Government of British Columbia Guard License.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance.
  • Must be seeking a long term opportunity with potential for advancement.
