Touring Video Engineer

to join our crew and support productions worldwide.

Role Overview

As a Touring Video Engineer, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of complex video systems in high-pressure live event environments. This role requires technical expertise across media servers, networking, and show control, along with a deep understanding of video system design and touring logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, configure, and operate video systems for live shows, including LED walls, projectors, and multi-screen environments. Manage video signal flow using hardware such as routers, switches, and converters. Program and operate media servers, primarily

Disguise (d3)

, along with other industry-standard platforms. Integrate and troubleshoot timecode, genlock, and synchronization systems. Collaborate with production teams, lighting, audio, and automation departments to ensure seamless show integration. Maintain, prep, and QC touring video gear during load-ins, rehearsals, and on the road. Provide clear documentation and system diagrams for each deployment. Anticipate and resolve technical issues quickly in live show environments.
Qualifications

Proven touring experience as a Video Engineer, Video Tech, or similar role. Strong knowledge of

Disguise/d3 programming

and other media servers (e.g., Resolume, Watchout, Hippotizer). Proficiency in

networking and system infrastructure

(routers, switches, IP configuration, Dante/NDI/SMPTE workflows). Experience with

timecode and synchronization protocols

. Strong understanding of video formats, resolutions, frame rates, and color science. Ability to read and create technical documentation, rack layouts, and system diagrams. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have

Knowledge of Notch or real-time graphics workflows. Familiarity with projection mapping. Experience with remote networking solutions (ZeroTier, VPN, remote desktop). Knowledge of camera systems and broadcast video workflows.
