Summary of the role: Part-time: Wednesday-Friday 10am-6:00pm As the Victim-Services Worker you will provide services to victims and witnesses of crime and/or trauma, assisting them to navigate the criminal justice, family law and other systems. You will assess referrals and apply appropriate responses within all relevant policies and procedures, supervise volunteers and triage referrals to the most appropriate worker, and ensure that victims of crime are given opportunities to address the effects of the crimes committed against them. For a detailed job description, please visit www.archwaysociety.ca/career-opportunities Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 A diploma in the social services field \xc2\xb7 Two years recent related experience including supervisory or volunteer management experience \xc2\xb7 An equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience will be considered Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the criminal justice, family law, health and child welfare systems \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of relevant legislation including Victims of Crime Act, Child, Family, Community Services Act, Personal Information Privacy Act, Federal Privacy Act, and Infants Act \xc2\xb7 Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills with complex cases and good professional judgement. Ability to function independently and with minimal supervision while managing multiple demands and time pressures. \xc2\xb7 Proven intake and needs assessment skills. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary case management teams. \xc2\xb7 A high level of tact, diplomacy and professionalism. \xc2\xb7 A high level of discretion and adherence to privacy legislation and policy. \xc2\xb7 Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of police and justice system database programs. Additional Job Information: \xc2\xb7 An Enhanced Criminal Records Check is required. \xc2\xb7 Membership with the BC Government and Service Employees\xe2\x80\x99 Union is required. \xc2\xb7 A valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and availability of personal vehicle for work purposes is required.
